Interview and Interrogation Techniques begins with an overview of fire scene examination, documentation of the scene, and evidence collection provided by seasoned faculty. Students will learn how to understand motives and develop suspects while reading body language and detecting deception. Instructors will discuss the process of conducting witness interviews and obtaining written witness statements in order to establish a cohesive timeline. The course will feature models for interview and interrogation techniques, and procedures for documenting the interview will also be detailed.  Students will learn the rights of adults versus juveniles, Miranda rights, and the difference between interviewing and interrogating. Certificates will be issued to students who have successfully completed the course.
